  • Dylan Thomas’ celebrated play draws you into the wonderfully evocative, sometimes bizarre stories and poems of one whole day in the life of the many inhabitants of the village. Populated by some of the best-loved characters in literature, this “play for voices” is both brilliantly funny and deeply moving and while firmly rooted in place, its universality shines through.

First produced in 1954 as a radio play, it was later adapted for the stage and film.

In this production, produced by Blue Raincoat Theatre Company, the cast of local players are drawn from the rich tradition of drama and musical societies and groups that thrive throughout the county of Sligo.
