From where you are, you can hear their dreams…Dylan Thomas’ darkly comic masterpiece invites you into the little Welsh fishing village of Llareggub in the company of its colourful inhabitants, including Polly Garter with her garden full of babies, Mrs Ogmore-Pritchard with her browbeaten, ghostly husbands, and Captain Cat, pining for his long-dead love.
By turns poignant, poetic and wonderfully funny, the play offers a window into the lives of the villagers as they sing, hope, flirt and dream the day away.
Staged in the atmospheric surroundings of Brasenose College Chapel, this production takes Thomas’ play for voices back to its radio roots. Join us in the studio of a small radio station, as the people of Llareggub come to life, and the worlds of sound and dreams meld into one.
