Scott James is a multi-instrumental performer, who, fuses velvet vocals with socially aware rap. Scott performs new songs inspired by Dylan Thomas, commissioned to form part of the Dear Dylan project (an anthology published by Indigo Dreams, plus touring show).
Scott is joined by acclaimed poets Adam Horovitz (‘the real deal‘ Carol Ann Duffy), and Elizabeth Parker (‘a rising star of British poetry’ David Morley).Adam Horovitz has published two collections of poems, Turning (Headland, 2011) and The Soil Never Sleeps (Palewell, 2018) and a memoir, A Thousand Laurie Lees (History Press, 2014). He has been Poet in Residence for Herefordshire and the Pasture-fed Livestock Association, among others, and was one of the first influx of Versopolis poets chosen by Ledbury Poetry Festival.
Elizabeth Parker has won and been shortlisted for a number of prizes including the Bridport, Melita Hume, Troubadour International, and Gregory O’Donoghue awards. In Her Shambles is her debut poetry collection (April 2018). It’s been described as ‘Wonderfully lucid and economical… precise and delicate in its use of language’ by Andrew Taylor and described as a ‘radiantly-written and vigorous collection’ by David Morley.
The event also includes an open mic – come and share your own Dylan inspired poems.
Advance ticket holders will have priority in the list of open mic poets.
