VERNON AND DYLAN – Sunday 8th October 6.30pm for 7.00pm

On the 50th anniversary of the death of Vernon Watkins – the Poet of Gower – the Birthplace – in association with the Dylan Thomas Society – present a double bill of a Vernon Watkins biography followed by a new interview with Gwen Watkins recorded as part of the Birthplace 100 Voices for 100 Years of Dylan.

Each video gives a fascinating insight into how the lives of the two poets intertwined. In this previously unseen recording Gwen shows her love and admiration for both men with some new anecdotes. She has, however, some harsher words for the women in their lives including mothers and Dylan’s wife Caitlin.

If you are a poet or writer or someone with an interest in these two most famous men of Swansea this is a must see event.
