  • A Child’s Christmas in Wales and Other Dylan Thomas

Following two amazing visits from Guy Masterson firstly with ‘Under Milk Wood – Semi Skimmed’ by Dylan Thomas and then in December with his wonderful one man performances of ‘A Christmas Carol’ we are delighted that Guy is returning this December with a festive Dylan Thomas poem and other pieces plus a matinee performance of ‘A Christmas Carol’.

Dylan Thomas’ wonderful short story and other works are brought vividly to life!

Often overshadowed by his masterpiece, Under Milk Wood, world renowned performer of Dylan Thomas’ works, Guy Masterson, here brilliantly reveals the magic of Dylan Thomas’ “other” works in a performance “of staggering energy and invention” (The Scotsman) conjuring the romantic lyricism and genius wordplay that made Thomas one of the world’s greatest writers.

Centred around Dylan’s seasonal masterpiece, A Child’s Christmas In Wales, the varied programme may also include A Visit To Grandpa’s and/or Holiday Memory plus a selection of his greatest verse including Fern Hill, Do Not Go Gentle Into That Good Night and Death Shall Have No Dominion.

Masterson’s command of Thomas’s wordplay is remarkable, akin to his great uncle, the late Richard Burton. He won The Stage Award for Best Actor in 2001 for this performance. Come and experience the richness and magic of the English language at its very best!

“Sheer unadulterated pleasure! Expect Thomas’s words and characters to be brought wonderfully to life… A simply unmissable offering.” (Scotland on Sunday)
