Project Description

Dylan Thomas Night at Talking Rhythm, The Prince of Greenwich, London

  • Date:

    Thursday April 13th

    7.30pm

  • The Prince of Greenwich Pub
    72 Royal Hill,
    London
    SE10 8RT
  • Talking Rhythm welcomes you all to a night happy as the grass was green-ful featuring Dylan Thomas poems, extracts from plays and prose music. There will also be songs sung in holy streams and from rivers of the windfall light there will be prizes in response to questions in quizzes and other creative confusions!

There will definitely be: An extract from Under Milk Wood

So expect a DT quiz with prizes: A bottle of Penderyn Whisky (there was a Dylan bottle – I wonder if that batch has all been drunk from the Penderyn Whisky Distillery? Second Prize a bottle of Merlyn)

Songs will be sung by the boyo Trefor Ellis.

Poems or other things created: paintings, tapestries, songs inspired by Dylan. Tales involving Dylan, too.

This is just a first draft of ideas because Talking Rhythm is in haste to get out some noisey ideas before it goes on silent retreat for six days. There will be more of these Dylan tidings from the 7th of April up to the 13th April.

You can also wet your appetite by getting involved with the Love the Words competition which is running this year. It is meant for people aged 7-25 but its a lovely co-run comp with Dylan’s granddaughter Hannah Ellis’s Discover Dylan Thomas website:

Thank you for your patience with this impatience to invite you.

For this evening the door will be £4.00 and £3.00 concessions as usual.

It will be a night of EVERYTHING DYLAN as a precursor to DYLAN DAY on the 14th May.
