“Dylan Thomas was widely loved as was his poetry. When he toured America three times in the 1950s, there was a great dealing of screaming, shouting and fainting. He also lived the prototypical rock star life, especially the drinking. It only made him more appealing. One day in 1953 he reputedly drank 18 double whiskies at the White Horse Tavern in New York. He said “that must be some sort of record” and fell into a coma. He was 39. This film is an imagining of what might have happened in those last hours in the White Horse and what made the great man unravel.”
