Revisit the beloved fictional world of Dylan Thomas’ Under Milk Wood in an afternoon of storytelling and music with Cerys Matthews.

Join Matthews as she revisits Dylan Thomas’ beloved characters – Captain Cat, Rosie Probert, Organ Morgan, Myfanwy, Nogood Boyo – and other inhabitants of Llaregubb, the fictional seaside village of Under Milk Wood.

Multi-instrumentalist Arun Ghosh and artist Kate Evans, who worked alongside Matthews to produce a picture-book version of Under Milk Wood, abridged and adapted for children, also bring their talents to bear for this event.
The picture book’s publication by Weidenfeld & Nicolson this year marks the 70th anniversary of Thomas’ play for voices.

Cerys Matthews is a musician, author and broadcaster who hosts and programmes award-winning radio shows across BBC 6, 2 and 4. Her previous releases include children’s books Tales from the Deep and Gelert, and folk cookbook Where the Wild Cooks Go, plus the singalong and Sunday Times bestseller Hook, Line and Singer, and she has composed music for Dylan Thomas’ A Child’s Christmas. Her uncle Colin Edwards amassed the most substantive collection of interviews in the 1960s for the Dylan Thomas archive. Matthews is patron of the Dylan Thomas Society and Ballet Cymru.
