NP20 1HGBallet Cymru is proud to present a triple bill of new work created in Wales by Welsh and Wales based choreographers.
The company’s newly appointed Resident Choreographer, Marcus Jarrell Willis presents Isolated Pulses, created over lockdown in various states of social distancing and Covid measures. Marcus has performed with many companies including Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater from 2008-16 and most recently, he was the 2018/19 Leverhulme Choreography Fellow at Rambert Dance in London.
Exceptional Welsh dancer and choreographer Liam Riddick trained at London Contemporary Dance School, was a member of Richard Alston Dance Company for 8 years and BalletBoyz, winning the Best Male Dancer (Dancing Times Award) at the Critics’ Circle National Dance Awards in 2017. Liam presents Murmurations, his first work for Ballet Cymru to music by Welsh legend Charlotte Church.
Poems and Tiger Eggs (2017) is Ballet Cymru’s love letter to Dylan Thomas. Created by Ballet Cymru Artistic Directors Darius James OBE and Amy Doughty the piece features stunning live readings of some of Thomas’ best-known poems by Welsh icon and Ballet Cymru Patron Cerys Matthews MBE.
