Antony Penrose is a photographer and the son of surrealist artist Sir Roland Penrose and the surrealist and war documentary photographer Lee Miller. He is the curator of the Lee Miller Photographic Archives and author of several books.
The Lee Miller Archives are held at Farleys House and Gallery, Farley Farm, Muddles Green, Chiddingly East Sussex BN8 6HW and Farley Farm can be visited during the summer season. Phone 01825 872691 for opening hours or check the website www.leemiller.co.uk
The Lee Miller archive consists of approx 60,000 of her negatives, mainly B&W, manuscripts, captions, notes, letters, her cameras, some personal effects (including her US Army uniform). The archive also contains approx 3,000 images by Sir Roland Penrose and photography by David E Schuerman, Man Ray, Antony Penrose and Andrew Lanyon.

11.00 Antony Penrose will show examples of the work of his mother at different periods of her life and talk about the other artists she was associated with in her life. Lee Miller photographed the Swansea-born poet and broadcaster Dylan Thomas as part of her work for Vogue Magazine.

14.00 Seminar by Antony Penrose about the life and work of Lee Miller and where she lived at different periods of her life. This will include her service in the US Army during the 1939-45 period and will include reference to another female photographer serving with the US Army, Margaret Bourke-White.
