‘Love the Words’ is an annual celebration of the power and magic of words, and is part of International Dylan Thomas Day, which takes place on May 14 each year.
This year, Love the Words is a free poetry competition for everyone who loves words, anywhere in the world.
This year, Dylan Day invites you to send a poem of up to 25 lines on the theme of hope. Poems should be unpublished, as a selection of around 30 poems will be chosen for inclusion in our online winners’ anthology, which will be released on Dylan Day, 14 May, as a free e-book with Infinity Books UK via Amazon. Poems will be judged by Dylan’s grand-daughter Hannah Ellis and poet Mab Jones, in 3 categories: 10 & under; 11-18; and over 18. A winner for each category will also be chosen and will receive a small prize.
Please send your poems to firstname.lastname@example.org giving your full name, age, country, and name of parent or guardian if under 16, by midnight on 1st May 2020. Good luck.
