The following needs little introduction.  It is a fantastic recording of my grandfather’s broadcast Holiday Memory performed by the brilliant actor, Guy Masterson.  Please enjoy a nostalgic recollection of an August bank holiday weekend with all Dylan Thomas’s wonderful wordplay.

Guy Masterson is an actor, theatre director and Olivier Award winning producer.  His lineage in the entertainment industry is remarkable: his maternal uncle was the actor Richard Burton and his father’s second cousin was the Italian Superstar Marcello Mastroianni.    He has made a name for himself with an extrodinary solo version of Under Milk Wood and has given over 2000 performances all round the world.  He has memorised much of Dylan Thomas’s writing and has combined this into a show called Fern Hill and Other Dylan Thomas.  He also does an incredible solo adaptation of George Orwell’s Animal Farm!

This recording will only be available on this site for a few weeks but you can listen to further examples of Guy’s work or find out more about his stage shows by clicking here.
